Chief of Police: Salary $82K-$111,500. City of Waukee, Iowa (pop. 16,000). Waukee is part of the Des Moines metropolitan area located 15 minutes west of downtown Des Moines. .  The City of Waukee is seeking a strong, visionary, thoughtful, and community-minded leader to be the next Chief of Police. The Chief is expected to maintain significant community presence. 

 

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred) in public safety or similar field and a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a law enforcement officer with five years’ experience supervising other officers. Advanced management training is also desirable.  Qualified candidates must be able to meet the physical requirements to perform the duties of the Police Chief.  Candidates should be eligible for licensure from the

POLICE CHIEF

NORWALK, IOWA

 

The City of Norwalk, Iowa, (pop. estimated at 10,000) is seeking candidates for the position of Chief of Police.  This 13 sworn member and one support person department has an annual budget of $1.6 million.  Norwalk is a suburb of Des Moines; Iowa's capital city.  The Police Chief works under the general direction of the City Manager but exercises significant independent judgment and initiative.

 

The city is seeking a proven law enforcement leader that can work collaboratively with other city departments to realize the goals of the City Council.  Norwalk is located in Warren County, and is experiencing significant development and growth. 

 

An Associate's degree is required for this position with a four year degree preferred.  Graduation from advanced management programs such as the FBI National Academy, Southern Police Institute or similar programs is also preferred.  Ten years experience in a law enforcement agency with five years supervisory experience at the sergeant level or above is required.

 

The salary range for the position is $80K - $95K with an excellent benefit package, including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, vacation and other paid leave, retirement contributions and vision and deferred compensation options.  The Chief of Police is a FLSA exempt position.

Tama County Emergency Director

The Tama County Emergency Management Commission and the Tama County 911 Service Board are seeking a Director. This Full-Time position will report to both the Commission and the Board equally.

 

Duties include:

Manage 13 person 911 department

Manage 2 person Emergency Management department

Oversee 911 operations

Manage 911 addressing in County

Respond to Emergencies as needed

Complete all FEMA and Homeland Security required drills and documentation

Safety, Health and Environment duties for the County ensuring OSHA and other applicable rules/laws compliance

All other duties assigned

DEPUTY SHERIFF POSITION
